System Interface Testing & Reporting

Systems Interface Testing (formally Full Function Fire Testing) is required by AS1851 where any fire protection systems are interfaced with other systems within the building, this annual testing event is the most critical and stringent performance test for any building and typically involves many stakeholders including but not limited to building management, maintenance contractors, tenants, insurance representatives, fire brigade and local municipal representatives.

Definition:

An example of a typical interface parameter is a fire detection system when activated, may be arranged to automatically initiate operation of smoke hazard management plant, release fire doors, operate warning systems, notify brigade, shut down non-essential plant, operate elevator override controls etc. All required parameters are verified upon each testing scenario as scheduled.

Application:

Fire Matrix have developed a proven and methodical approach to planning the required testing event, controlling the actual testing phase and managing the testing outcomes with the client to assist with defect tracking and the resolution process.

Any defects which may be identified are prioritised and clearly communicated to the responsible parties.

Systems Interface Testing is not a commissioning test of each system; it is to certify that existing systems are operating and interfacing correctly.
